Lord Wandsworth College is a co-educational day and boarding school in Hampshire, educating approximately 670 students. Having steadily increased enrollment over recent years, the school was already in a strong position. However, Director of Marketing Pete German sought a deeper understanding of the College’s market position and opportunities for further growth. MTM Consulting’s market research was commissioned to deliver the clarity and evidence needed to guide future strategy.
MTM Consulting carried out a full demand and supply analysis to assess current families, realistic catchment areas, and areas of untapped potential. The study also projected demographic changes through 2031 and examined competitor enrollment trends since 2013.

The findings revealed that while Lord Wandsworth College holds strong market share across most of its catchment, certain high-growth areas were being under-served. These missed markets are projected to grow by 13–15% through 2031, representing significant recruitment potential.
MTM Consulting also identified several major housing developments and school expansions within the region, providing clear insight into both competitive and feeder opportunities. Three new bus routes were proposed to improve accessibility to key growth zones.
The results have been used by the College’s leadership team to refine marketing and outreach plans, ensuring future efforts focus on the highest-potential areas.
